Just a quick work trip for a couple of demos with customers. More memorable for the travelling, but some good moments just walking along the beach near the hotel and sipping a beer. Also a nice dinner in town. So yes flying with El-Al the security at CDG was pretty much mental, never had such a thorough check through luggage and credentials, asking me which credit card I booked the hotel with, etc. And on arrival, being born in Algeria and with a passport that had some stamps from Dubai….maybe not ideal. Still, I wasn’t fazed and when they asked if i wanted a separate piece of paper for the visa, I said ‘nah’. Maybe not wise, my dislike of any religious war does not match reality. Anyway, also nice suprise a complimentary bottle of wine in the hotel room. Not much chance of drinking it, and given security, I did not even try to bring it back. On seeing the trouble some tourists were in, in front of me on the way back, for not being able to justify where they had bought a perfectly innocent tourist’s book with photos, definitely a wise move. Work went well, joined with colleagues from Belgium and Italy for that one, and the Bezeq meeting room for the first demo was very nice, high up a tower. Lost a book on the plane on the way back, travelling was a bit hectic as I had to fly to New York the next day still for work. I did enjoy the madness sometimes, for the sake of it.
